Work

Music pops out of speakers as if they are set inside a pop can. My lower back gives off a little ache. There is a stale smell in the room that I can't place. I look at the monitors logo in the upper left. I feel a tightening and releasing in my gut, it's the odd feeling of want. I think for a moment whether I should buy a monitor, and then remember again that I probably don't need one. The back of my tongue and throat ache a little, I look over at my coffee, ummm. Its lukewarm aroma is comforting. I let out a sigh, my back tweaks a little, I try to remember one moment that meant something more then this one, any moment really, any moment better then coffee.

I want a scooter too, if you don't want one for yourself, you could get one for me...

1 - Power
2 - Ethernet
3 - Ipod USB
4 - Other USB device
5 - Other USB device

Ok, I'm gonna need complete silence...

Is the device in number 4 a mouse?

Is the device in number 5 a printer/scanner/copier?

Oops, number 1 doesn't look like power...

It must be connected to headphones or external speakers.

Don't they make docking stations/port replicators for macintosh notebooks?

I'm not sure either- I just found the photo in the internet. But my guess would be.
1. Power (for sure)
2. Ethernet
3. Mouse (maybe Ipod or keyboard)
4. I don't know, but it's definitely fire wire- probably a hard drive.
5. Definitely a second monitor. (I just put up two at work)

Im not sure if they make docking stations, someone must, after all, there's money to be made. But I don't think its Apple.

You're definitely right about #5. I see the VGA adapter now.

So is that a firewire interface for video output? Only on a macintosh!

no, its just a little adapter thing to make the port smaller to fit on the laptop, and to look nice. the new Power books now have a DVI port. you have to use an adapter if you want to use a VGA monitor.
